Here’s what I am considering!

Plug1I am thinking lately about ending this "blog" journey.  I am in a different flow of life…I have a job that I need to work daily and classes online that I need to oversee…a faith community that I am a part of that takes a bit of time…in addition, I browse tons of blogs daily and give some dedicated thought to how to contribute to the Missional conversation through Allelon’s blog.  I feel this "blog pressure" that is starting to bother me.  But instead of just suddenly "ending it all", I am considering terminating the blog and doing my theological and kingdom reflections through the Re/New website (front page articles and thoughts – www.renewministry.com).  I am trying to consolidate some aspects of my life…there are needs that we have for the Re/New site to be fresh and something that people "look at" on a regular basis…I am at a place where I think I can continue to do the blog journey just in a different manner.  I believe if I combined the two, then I could keep the website alive and keep blog conversations, questions, thoughts, reflections, and book recommendations simmering as well.  Before I make that change, I want any and all feedback…can you give me a quick opinion?  What do you think of this potential move?  Make a comment please…more to come!

  1. Robin, you pop up in my feedreader so if you just need to decrease the posting frequency, go for it… through the magic of RSS many/most of us will still pick up your posts as/when they occur.

My way of saying no need to shut the place down — just don’t be under any pressure to be witty and insightful on cue.

  3. Robin,

I have enjoyed your posts and your blog presence. I will read you wherever you post–just let me know where to look. It sounds like you are in the midst of some great things in life–if this is the end of this blog season–you have been a good steward. Thanks.

    Praying for and with you,
    Ryan

  4. I always say that the moment you start working for your blog and not the other way around, you have a problem. However, Brother Maynard makes a very good point about feeds. Blog if and when you want. No pressure.

However, if you feel released by consolidating and shutting this space down, it is entirely your call. I retired my old blog at the height of its popularity because it was beginning to “own” me. So I understand.

    Peace,
    Jamie
